Balkan Athletics was invited to take part for the third time in the prestigious DecaNation meeting in Angers, France on 9 September 2017. The DecaNation is a competition where athletics becomes a team sport. It was created and is managed by French Athletic Federation. Every year eight top teams in the world are invited to compete in 20 classic athletic disciplines.

Balkan team is composed of the winners in the respective events from the Balkan Senior Championships held in July in Novi Pazar, Serbia. Head of Delegation is Fatih Cintimar, Balkan Athletics Vice President and President of the Turkish Athletic Federation. Team Leaders are Robert Emmiyan, reigning European record holder in long jump (8.86m) and President of Armenian Athletic Federation and Ugur Kucuc, International relations of TUR. The team is dressed in Joma uniforms provided by EBS Group with the support of Gregor Bencina.

This year Balkans are competing against the teams of Ukraine, Poland, China, Japan, USA and of course France. The competition attracts thousands of spectators on the stadium and is followed by sports fans around the world.
